Support for Breeze AFA from the Congressional Delegation of Rhode Island
On February 27th, 2024 the Congressional Delegation from Rhode Island contacted Breeze Airways CEO, David Neeleman writing:
We write regarding the efforts of Breeze Airways Flight Attendants to organize a union, as the congressional representatives of Flight Attendants based in our districts who have contacted our offices about this matter.
We understand that Breeze Airways Flight Attendants announced a coordinated campaign to organize a union on January 9, 2024, and filed for an election with the National Mediation Board on January 22, 2024. As the National Mediation Board processes the Flight Attendants’ request pursuant to the Railway Labor Act, we urge you to remain neutral and not engage in any pre-election activities that could influence worker’s freedom to choose to form a union.
All employers should respect workers’ free and fair choice to join a union, as is protected by law. Breeze Airways Pilots elected to form a union in 2022. Now, as Breeze Airways Flight Attendants move towards a union representation election, we encourage you to work cooperatively with your employees to ensure the continued success of Breeze Airways and its workforce. Thank you for your time and attention to this important issue.
Sincerely,
