As Flight Attendants, we're natural caregivers. That's our superpower! But it's also crucial to guard against those who might take advantage of our kindness. Our Union is our shield, giving us a powerful, legally recognized voice that can't be sidelined.

Your Rights, Our Collective Voice

Representation Election: A Critical Choice

  • Who Can Vote: According to the Railway Labor Act, only qualified Flight Attendants on the Seniority List the previous pay period before January 22, 2024 are eligible to vote. All Breeze AFA Flight Attendants, now and in the future, will have the right to fully participate in our Union after we Win our Union!
     
  • What's at Stake: This vote is about choosing to have legal rights, a strong voice, and essential protections at work.

Beware of Corporate Tricks 

Management will do anything to disrupt our efforts to establish our Flight Attendant Union. These tactics include hiring sprees to influence the vote and spreading misinformation during training. Corporate misinformation may include statements like “you are being excluded” in an attempt to cause anger and mistrust among coworkers. This effort to create division is used by management to maintain power over us. This is exactly why Federal Law is in place – to protect us, the workers.

Taking Action and Making a Difference

Addressing Unlawful Corporate Actions

  • Illegal Anti-Union Influence: If management tells you not to support the Union during training, it's not just wrong, it's illegal. Such actions violate labor laws and must be reported to AFA Legal immediately. Your report can protect your rights and those of your fellow Flight Attendants.
     
  • Misinformation About Union Eligibility: Beware of false claims from management, such as that those on probation are ineligible to sign a Union Authorization Card. Not only is this untrue, but you have to remember that without the legal standing a Union provides to hold management accountable and fight wrongful terminations, you are always on probation. Without a Union, you're an 'at-will' employee and can be terminated without cause at any time, not just during “probation.” 'Just Cause' protection, which requires a valid reason for termination, only applies with Union membership or while you are publicly working to win your Union through the organizing process. Report any such misinformation to AFA Legal right away via [email protected].
