This is our Union! We've built it.

From day one it is us—Breeze Flight Attendants—who have done the work, talking with one another, showing up for one another and encouraging one another to know our value and claim our power with our Flight Attendant Union! We’ve done this with the support and guidance from other AFA Flight Attendants at the 19 other airlines who are AFA, and the professional AFA staff.

This is what our Union is…our Union is Us! This is what our Union does, Flight Attendants empowering Flight Attendants!

Let’s be clear…this is why we are determined to WIN our Union:

We want Breeze to succeed and Breeze Flight Attendants to have a legally recognized voice that cannot be ignored.  This important for our airline to succeed. Clarity and transparency, which helps eliminate the fear some of us feel, are key distinctions that come with our Flight Attendant Union and Contract.

A constantly changing “playbook” and never in the best interest of Flight Attendants.  This effects all of us.

Changing the scope of our Flight Attendant Careers. Corporate forced all of us to become “Security Screener” qualified.  They only gave us two weeks and two days (over the holidays!) to complete the training. This is work that most of us would choose not to do, but if we have to, we should be compensated more for the additional out-of-scope responsibility that is being laid upon us. Not to mention the liability that falls on us after a meager 2-3 hour training. Management also laid bare their lack of power to support Flight Attendants when they admitted they were powerless to stop this from happening. Only with our Flight Attendant Union and our Contract will we have the Power to stop corporate from taking advantage of us.

Other issues Breeze Flight Attendants are organizing around:

  • Fair hourly compensation
  • Incentive/overtime Pay, Red eye pay, vacation pay
  • Work rules that don’t change on a whim
  • Clear defined expectations of our roles as Flight Attendants
  • A better reserve system
  • Reserve system with verbal contact for assignments or changes
  • Transparent reserve call out list
  • Hotel accommodations with food availability and discounts for Flight Crews
  • Sick time accumulation vs 24 hours per year
  • Higher guaranteed daily block time
  • Transparency, clarity and fair application of the "point system"
  • Better health insurance
  • Improved commuter policy
  • Crew Lounges

When we win our Breeze AFA Union it gives us a seat at the table for creating solutions. We get to be an equal party in the decisions that impact us - the face of Breeze Airways. With our Union, we’ll not only be able to identify issues we encounter, but we’ll also be part of permanent and mutually-agreeable solutions between Flight Attendants and management. Our Flight Attendant Union gives us a legally recognized and equal voice in determining the continued success of our budding airline.

AFA Buddy Program

In our AFA Union Tradition of Flight Attendants supporting Flight Attendants, we would like to invite you to be an “AFA Buddy.” An AFA Buddy is someone who would like to intentionally support the incoming new hires graduating in the next few weeks. As an AFA Buddy you will be a source of information to ease their transition onto the line as they learn the ins-and-outs of flying. Many of the questions you had when you first started flying are probably the same questions you will be there to help answer. It is helpful to have someone with experience offer suggestions on bidding strategies, how to trade, how to understand our paychecks and how reserve works, just to name a few.

If you would like to be an AFA Buddy, please sign-up here and type “AFA Buddy” in the “additional comments” section.

Check out the new area of the BreezeAFA.org website specifically for new hires and the AFA Buddy program!
