50,000 Flight Attendants from 19 Airlines Support Breeze AFA!
Your ballot is on it's way to your mailbox! Here's how to vote YES for AFA.
Today, the AFA Executive Board of Directors released a letter of support for our organizing campaign!
It reads:
Dear Breeze Flight Attendants,
We are so excited about your swift, effective campaign to file for an election and start voting this week. Your action and energy make Flight Attendants everywhere stronger and even more committed to defend and advance our careers.
Since a group of courageous women founded this union in 1945, generations of Flight Attendants have come together to make what was a temporary job into a career.
What began with Ada Brown and a few “airline stewardesses” at United Airlines almost 80 years ago has grown to our union of more than 50,000 aviation professionals at 19 airlines. Your election will expand our representation to 20 airlines!
Our union grew because of courageous Flight Attendants like you who refused to accept things as they were and instead decided to make our jobs and our lives what we know is possible.
Every time a new work group votes to form a union and negotiates a new contract, our career and our industry become stronger. In our union—now YOUR union—we work to constantly raise the standards. We are cheering you on for your vote - the higher the participation and votes for joining AFA, the stronger and more powerful stance you have to launch your contract bargaining for your first contract.
Every time you put on your uniform and wear your union pin, you are rejecting efforts to treat us as expendable and instead standing up to claim our worth and the respect we deserve as aviation’s first responders. Our AFA pin is a symbol of our careers and our professionalism, no matter the colors on the tail of aircraft we fly or the wings we wear on our uniforms.
Wear your pin proudly, speak to your flying partners, and work with one another and all of us for the future you deserve. Together, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish.
In Solidarity,
